Our Class Mission (how others will recognize us):
1. We will work hard.
2. We will do our best.
3. We will be quiet everywhere.
4. We will take care of school property.
5. We will be kind and help others.
Our Class Goals
1. Math: Pass at least 2 'Math Facts in a Flash' levels each month.
2. Reading: Gain one year's growth.
3. Word Study: Complete at least 3 levels by June.
4. Science/Social Studies: Score 80% or higher on tests.
5. Writing: Score 2'S and 3's on the writing rubric.
6. Behavior: Stay on green (or purple) every day.

9:40 - 10:25 Encore Specials
10:25 - 12:30 Language Arts/Snack
12:35 – 1:05 Lunch
1:05 - 1:20 Recess

With block scheduling, our specials are on a 7-day rotation.

Day 5 P.E.
Day 6 Math/Computer Lab
Day 7 Library
It’s important that you help you child remember tennis shoes for P.E. and books for Library.

Thank you for all the treats you sent for our feast! We had fun sampling foods typical of those eaten by the ancient Egyptians. We also set up our classroom as a museum. We shared our projects with second, third and first grade. Students also want to set up a museum at home for you can see our wonderful projects! Accelerated ReaderAccelerated Reader (A.R.) is in full swing! I expect to see each student taking two or more tests per week. Students may use our classroom A.R. books or may check out BRES library books that are marked A.R. Mrs. Kyker has recently posted the A.R. list on the Library Corner of this website.
Our class has earned over 500 points so far and our class comprehnsion average is over 88%. This puts us in second place in Grade 2 for both total number of points and average score.
